Rocco Pisto Paintings

Inspirited by spontaneity

RHS 50th Anniversary painting

Posted by roccopistopaintings on December 27, 2009 at 11:50 AM

I started working on my first oil painting since collegeback in the 70's.  This piece is about 4'x6' made up of a collage of imagesfor my high school days and people that made a difference. The painting will becompleted to coincide with the 50th anniversary of our high schoolget together in the fall of 2010.  Inever thought I would say that I miss working with oil paints, but they arelike painting with butter after years of painting with watercolor.  So it should be an interesting project, and agood give back to the school that encouraged me to follow my art.

11:44 AM on January 28, 2010 did an outstanding job on this piece. It brings back such nice memories, and what a very nice tribute to Bob and Perry (the backbones that brought music to our ears.) If they're will be any copies of this...I would absolutely love one.

thanks Karen, its coming a long, but I have a ways to go...good winter project. I think the plan is to incorporate a Giglee (high quality reproduction on archival paper and permanent inks) as part of the admission fees to the event and or sold separately. thanks again for the kind words.
